Welcome to MCR (My Canteen Rules)

Canteen Menu
The MCR’s Menu follows the NSW School Canteen Association Healthy Food Policy.  We have created a menu that allows for more healthy choices available to the students promoting good eating habits.  The Canteen menu is sent home with new students and when changes to the menu items or pricing have occurred.  The current menu is available here: Canteen Menu.

How to Purchase and Order
Recess: Food purchases at recess time are over-the-counter cash purchases.  Please send your child with the correct money where possible.
Lunch: Meals provided at lunch time must be pre-ordered using the Qkr! app or web site.
Other food purchases at lunch time are available after the 1:10pm bell and include ice blocks, fruit, snacks and drinks.

Canteen Committee
The Canteen is run by a sub-committee of the Excelsior P&C (Parents & Citizens) Association.  This sub-committee meets regularly and meeting times can be given to anyone who is interested to attend.  We would love to see more parents attend.  Contact us at the email address below if you’d like more information.

Canteen Supervisor
Jacqui Butcher and Kirrily Jones are the Canteen Supervisors and they are responsible for the day to day running of the canteen, with the help of volunteers.  Having paid Canteen Supervisors means that Excelsior PS's canteen is open EVERY day of the school week.

Volunteers are always appreciated and warmly welcomed.  You will be able to help with food preparation and serving the students over the counter at recess and lunch time.  A current Working with Children Check (WWCC) is required to volunteer at the canteen.  To volunteer for the canteen, simply email Jacqui at  jbcanteen22@gmail.com

1. The best phone number to contact you on
2. Which days you would prefer to volunteer (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday)
3. Your preferred times (Full day OR 8:50am-11:30am OR 11:30am-2:15pm)
4. The frequency you’d like to be rostered on, eg. weekly, monthly, once a term etc.

Volunteering at MCR is fun and when your own children see you there they absolutely beam with joy!  Enjoy a coffee or tea with us and get to know other parents.  The best part is that you know someone experienced is there to help you get used to the routine - so you won’t be out of your depth.

Our canteen also supports various fund raising events with special days held throughout the year.
